Construction is pressing along on the southwest corner of Church Street and The Esplanade in Toronto's St Lawrence Market area, where a new condominium tower from Harhay Developments and Carttera Private Equities is racing towards welcoming its first residents later this year. Named for its address, 75 on The Esplanade has been under construction since mid-2018, and after a series of construction challenges and project milestones in 2020, the project is entering the new year looking ever closer to its marketing renderings.

We last checked in on the 29-storey, architectsAlliance-designed project near the end of October, when concrete forming of a final residential level and mechanical penthouse level were bringing the tower to its final height. A few months later, the tower has reached its final height of 100 metres, and with structural forming now concluded, the focus of work has shifted to exterior and interior finishing.

Above, the tower cladding has advanced considerably since our last update, when the first panels had been installed. Now, with over a dozen levels of the tower largely enclosed, the clean aesthetic of the tower cladding – consisting of full-pane windows and slender dark mullions, surrounded by a frame of white metal panel finishes – is now apparent. The upcoming addition of balcony finishes will soon complete the sleek aesthetic.

Set to wrap up construction later this year, 75 On The Esplanade will contribute another 308 condominium units to this stretch of The Esplanade that has already welcomed thousands of new residents across several developments like London On The Esplanade Condos, the L Tower, and Backstage on The Esplanade that have been completed in recent years.
